4th Quarter Meltdowns

“On the road again.”

When Willie Nelson sings it, it sounds so sweet.

When you are the Green Bay Packers, it sounds like a grueling experience while meeting a team unlike you … that won last week. The Packers have now lost six straight games since Micah Parsons went down with a season ending injury last December. He still hasn’t returned, and won’t for at least a couple more weeks.

The six-game losing streak has been built in the strangest of ways. If the NFL played three quarter games the Packers would be a lot better off. But those darn fourth quarters have found Matt LaFleur’s men unable to close the deal seemingly no matter what the score is.

In a playoff game last January, the Packers took a 21-6 lead to the fourth quarter before allowing the Bears 25 points on the way to a 31-27 defeat. They also got run down in the regular season in a game that kicked off with the Bears and Packers in prime positions to win the NFC North Division. Leading 13-3 after three quarters the got outscored by ten points in the fourth quarter and lost the game by six in overtime.

In all, the Packers five game losing streak to end their 2025 season found Green Bay outscored in the fourth quarter by a 62-15 margin. Their 2025 season ended when they allowed the Bears to overcome a halftime deficit and score the only points in the fourth quarter to earn a 22-16 Chicago Wild Card victory.
