Missing Signal Callers
by Dennis Ranahan

Another week of generally mild weather for the nine outdoor venues on today’s National Football League schedule. The only forecasted rain is in Baltimore where the Ravens will host the Los Angeles Rams.

While the weather is mild, the injuries are affecting a number of teams at the all-important quarterback position. Lamar Jackson is out for the Ravens again, and since he became a member of John Harbaugh’s team Baltimore with him starting the game are 71 wins and 27 losses. Without him in the lineup since 2018, the team is a losing 4 and 10.

Brock Purdy is still sidelined for the San Francisco 49ers, but his backup, Mac Jones, has won all three of his 2025 starts including a dramatic overtime victory over their primary rival in the NFC West Division, the Los Angeles Rams. The Cincinnati Bengals continue to struggle with Joe Burrow sidelined for at least two months. This week, they acquired veteran Joe Flacco from the Browns, and he will start today when Cincinnati visits Green Bay.

This is the second time this season Flacco will face the Packers, he was the Browns starter when Cleveland upset Green Bay three weeks ago.

The Arizona Cardinals will also be without their starter today with the sidelining of Kyler Murray, who is recuperating from a foot injury. It has been pretty well known that Murray wouldn’t be able to go this week, and veteran Jacoby Brissett has worked with the Cardinals starters all week. But it didn’t come to light seemingly for the bettors until yesterday when the line jumped from the Colts being favored by seven points to as many as ten.

The Colts are coming off a 40-6 trouncing of the Las Vegas Raiders which followed their only loss of the season, suffered on the road to the Rams.

While so many teams are having problems at the quarterback position, the Colts appear to have hit the jackpot with Daniel Jones. The one-time New York Giant has found a home in Indianapolis and has led one of the most productive and mistake free offenses in the league.

Do you see this?

The Colts are in first place in the AFC South Division, have scored the most points in their conference, and following a win that came easier than they would have anticipated against the Raiders, now get to play a Cardinals team that is missing their quarterback.

By my count, that is a motivational trap. Is Indianapolis good enough to still win the game? Maybe. Will they cover the bloated line? Most likely not.

As for the public, they read this game differently. Their favorite play of the week is the Colts (-10) over the Cardinals. Their second and third most bet games are the Pittsburgh Steelers (-6) over the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys (-3½) over the Carolina Panthers.

As for the Qoxhi money rated plays today, they are now posted on this site and if a Bullet Play develops in the final hour before the 10 a.m. kick offs that game will be added to the list of recommendations by 9:45 a.m. Pacific Time.
